You’re reading AgenticMSP for a simple reason. You want to accelerate the development of your MSP’s AI services practice. AI is so new and so rapidly changing that it’s hard to stay on top of all the developments, introductions, new best practices, pricing, and more. This started out tough and just keeps getting tougher.
Learning the Lessons of the Past
Think back to other major technology introductions we’ve lived through. Networking. Server-Based, Virtualization, Unified Communications as a Service, Cloud, and more. At some point early in your adoption of each you found yourself not yet having the skills, the methodologies, the messaging, or the strategy required to take each of those innovations to market.
In some cases, the technology introduced didn’t align at all with the technology services you specialized in. The learning curve would be just too extensive. You knew it’s bad strategy to try to be all things to all people. But you also knew your customers would want these technologies and you didn’t want them to find a new technology partner to get them from.
What Did You Do?
26% enthusiastically sought and found other MSPs to partner with to provide the services they didn’t provide themselves. Another 36% were open to partnering if approached.
Partnering has long been a highly successful strategy for providing all customers with everything without overextending yourself.
One major proponent of the value of partnering is Vince Menzione, founder of the Ultimate Partner community, their celebrated podcast, and his newly released book, “Ultimate Partner: 7 Principles for Winning in the Age of Ecosystems, AI, and Co-Sell.” Menzione emphasizes, ““A lighthouse helps sailors navigate the tough waters and it has stood through time. “The channel is in the middle of a new set of massive shifts. AI, agentic computing, marketplace transformation, hyperscaler consolidation and more. Partners clearly need someone holding the light steady.”
