From Assistive to Autonomous, Microsoft Ignites the Frontier Firm
Microsoft introduced many new concepts, products, and enhancements at the recent Ignite conference. Here are some thoughts about how MSPs leverage this new information to improve customer relations.
Just when you were finally getting accustomed to “Modern Work” Microsoft marches forward and announces the dawning of the Frontier Firm!
As a veteran Microsoft Partner since 20 years before they first launched the Microsoft Certified Partner Program, I have been subjected to Microsoftspeak in all its incarnations over four decades. I’ve sat through my share of Microsoft Inspire and, before that, Worldwide Partner Conferences, and heard all the creative mumblespeak we’re supposed to digest and… do something with. At first, I wasn’t sure what to do with their presentations.
Over time I came to realize that I needed to make it my own. That is, I needed to use their “stuff” as a framework upon which to build my own presentations for customers. They would recognize some of the words from Microsoft “air cover” advertising and that would lend credence to my pitch. The trick was to not sound as corny and convoluted as Microsoft did.
